Growing up in a small town in rural Wisconsin, movies and television were my escape to the great big worlds that lie beyond: preferably ones full of replicants, shape-shifting aliens, or shadowy government agents. I wanted to travel to the dystopian urban future of BLADE RUNNER, battle monsters on the frozen Arctic tundra of THE THING and crisscross the country seeking aliens with Mulder and Scully in THE X-FILES. While other kids were playing outside, I was mainlining DVD commentaries, hoarding copies of Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone and reverse-engineering how movies got made. I didn't just watch stories; I wanted to build them from the ground up.

Today, I champion visionary creators and unforgettable storytelling. When I'm not binge watching a new show, I'm out chasing adventure and raising a tiny human of my own, my most epic role to date: Mom.
